Surrounding

Wine City- glorious past, promising future

Ashkelon was the center of the Middle East wine industry in ancient times. The vines that grew in the area reached local wineries and from there traveled to four corners of the world and made this city an important international trade center.

Almost 2,000 years later, the Wine City neighborhood of northern Ashkelon is being built, a modern residential neighborhood that will house about 11,000 Israeli families. Wine City residents will enjoy unique benefits such as: Direct access to the neighborhood from highway 4, a train station in the neighborhood , an education system that includes three high schools, schools, kindergartens and community centers, a neighborhood leisure area that will include cafes, clinics and more.

Residents of the Wine City will be able to work, buy and spend time at an industrial and high-tech park, which will cover 60,000 meters and will include an integrated transport complex with a train station and municipal and interurban buses.

The western part of the neighborhood will be connected to a green public park, which spans on 450 acres and will connect to the Nitzanim reserve to the west. A wine history museum will be set up in the park, which will be built near the wine factory.
